This is a reported issue but I can find no clear solution. Does anyone know what changes to make to the source code to get the Tabs working in IE8? It has to do with jquery. I cannot revert to an earlier version because I've made a change to latest source code to get the ComboBox working properly in IE11. If there were a way to get hold of source code for earlier versions I would do so and use its Tabs and make the change there to the ComboBox code.
