Phone no. validation using MaskedEditor only if user inputs 10 digit number otherwise none

I have to format the phone no.  ( xxx-xxx-xxxx) if its 10 digits but if it is less than or greater than 10 digits, then no formatting. I can do it exclusively for 10 digit phone no. using Masked Editor  but  can it be used my case or is there anyother way to do the same.
